Mantova Achieves ISO 14001 Certification and Reinforces Its Commitment to Environmental Management
Mantova has recently been recommended for certification under ISO 14001, one of the world’s most widely recognized international standards for environmental management systems. The recommendation was issued following a rigorous external audit conducted earlier this month. The certification confirms that the company meets international criteria focused on the prevention of environmental impacts, systematic risk control, and the promotion of increasingly sustainable operations.
More than a certification seal, ISO 14001 consolidates a commitment that has long been part of Mantova’s core values. Well before the formal audit cycle, the company had already been enhancing its environmental practices, strengthening a culture of waste reduction, and implementing structured routines for waste segregation, energy efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
“This certification does not mark the beginning of a new Mantova but rather recognizes the Mantova that already exists and acknowledges everyone who contributed to this journey. We are rigorous in what we do, and we understand environmental responsibility as an inseparable part of our corporate identity,” says Hérlon Ceratti, Quality and Environmental Coordinator at Mantova.
The achievement was coordinated by the Quality Department, with active involvement from multiple areas of the company. The process required teamwork, commitment, and a shared vision regarding the role of sustainability in the future. Among the implemented improvements are ergonomic enhancements, strengthened operational controls, legal compliance adjustments, and investments in sustainable infrastructure.
“This result belongs to the entire team. ISO 14001 is not just about meeting requirements, but about cultivating a solid culture of care, safety, and environmental responsibility,” Ceratti adds.
Sustainability Translated into Concrete Actions
The certification validates a series of initiatives that are already part of Mantova’s daily operations, including:
- Full adoption of LED lighting, reducing overall energy consumption;
- Infrastructure for rainwater harvesting and reuse in restrooms, floor cleaning, and irrigation of green areas;
- A structured selective waste collection system with environmentally appropriate disposal of solid waste;
- Implementation and monitoring of reverse logistics practices, ensuring the responsible return of materials and packaging;
- Ongoing improvement programs and internal training focused on environmental responsibility.
These actions reinforce Mantova’s commitment to efficiency, innovation, and the continuous reduction of environmental impacts. “Taking care of the environment means taking care of the future of our company, our people, and society as a whole. Every investment in sustainability is an investment in longevity and corporate responsibility,” says Afonso Vicenzi, Director of Mantova.
A Milestone for the Company and the Entire Value Chain
ISO 14001 certification positions Mantova at a new level of excellence within the industry, strengthening the trust of customers, partners, and society. It also demonstrates that it is possible to grow, innovate, and compete at a high level while keeping environmental stewardship as a fundamental pillar.
With this recognition, Mantova reaffirms its responsible and modern approach, aligned with global best practices in environmental management, marking yet another milestone in its more than 30-year history.
